Plymouth City Council is responsible for the management of five cemeteries four closed churchyards and the city's two crematoria.

Staff at the facilities are responsible for:

  • Arranging over 3000 cremations and burials a year
  • Dealing with enquiries and answering questions from the public, assisting families in choosing appropriate and personal memorials
  • Assisting families with family history searches
Efford Cemetery and Crematoria

The cemetery opened in 1907 and the crematoria in 1934. The chapel at Efford is non-denominational with seating for forty people.

Facilites include:
  • Public Waiting room
  • Book of Remembrance room
  • Garden of Remembrance
  • Burial Plots and Vaults for the burial of Cremated remains
  • Columbaria
  • Toilets
Opening Hours Office Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm Grounds and the Book of Remembrance:
The Grounds and the Book of Remembrances rooms are open to the public 365 days a year
