The Taunton Deane Crematorium is ideally situated on the western side of the town easily accessible both by car and public transport.

It was opened in 1963, designed by a private architect and built by a local builder in stone obtained from three quarries in the area. The Crematorium was presented with a Civic Award in 1965 and the buildings being of 'architectual interest' were 'listed' in 1998.

The Chapel seats 110 and benefits from the availability of an excellent pipe organ built by local craftsmen. The resident Crematorium organists are able to play requested hymns and voluntary music.

There is also a music system installed which provides for the playing of tapes, records and compact discs.

A public address system is available with the speakers both inside and outside the Chapel, a loop system is also provided inside for those with hearing difficulties.
