Liverpool City Council Cemeteries and Crematoria Service is most conscious of the personal and private grief that surrounds each individual family following a bereavement. We therefore aim to provide families with as much information as possible regarding bereavement arrangements and the options available.

Our services include the following:

Cremation
Memorialisation
Burial
Civil Funeral Ceremony

Cemeteries
The City Council has six cemeteries located at:

Anfield
Everton
Kirkdale
West Derby
Allerton
Toxteth.

New graves
New graves are available in Everton, Toxteth and Allerton Cemetery.

Reopening graves
It is also possible to arrange for a burial within an existing grave. This is often preferable when families wish to be reunited with their loved ones.

Full earth woodland burials
The natural woodland burial area, located within Allerton Cemetery, provides a very natural burial area with mature trees and a variety of natural plants and grasses, which offer an alternative to the traditional type of burial area.

Crematoria
The City Council has two crematoria located at:

Anfield
Springwood

Anfield Crematorium
Anfield Crematorium is set within a rose garden of remembrance. Chapel times are available every 30 minutes.

Springwood Crematorium
Springwood Crematorium is set within landscaped gardens. There are two chapels available for services, which take place at 30 minutes intervals.
