Crematoria
Nearest railway station Meols Cop or Southport. Bus stop outside the crematorium entrance, route number 395 Southport/Wigan. Opened in 1959. Situated in 32 acres of woodland giving a natural and very peaceful atmosphere. The woodland is well known for it's bird life and is one of the few sites where red squirrels can be seen in the wild. The chapel will seat approximately 100 people, it is fitted with a hearing loop system. There is available free of charge for services an electric organ and taped or CD music can be provided. Memorial plaques in the woodland glades are available together with the book of remembrance, which is on permanent display next to the crematorium office. Although there are kerb memorials and shrub plaques these are no longer available.
