Haycombe Crematorium was built in 1961, the first cremation taking place on 2nd April that year. 

The total number of cremations carried out in the first year was 897 - the average today is approximately 2000 per annum. There have been in excess of 100,000 cremations to date.

The crematorium serves a large area, including Frome, Shepton Mallet, Wells, Keynsham and some still come from the Trowbridge area. In addition, occasional requests for cremation are received from further afield.

Haycombe provides a service to people of all faiths and beliefs, and our facilities are designed to be accessible to everyone.
